Call your GP as soon as possible to explain what is going on and how you are feeling. If your GP is closed, then you should call NHS 24 on 111.

Local 24 hour emergency services:

If you feel like you can’t cope or keep yourself safe right now, you should seek help straight away. Go to any Accident & Emergency (A&E) department or call 999.

If you need immediate support but don’t want to visit A&E, you can call the following 24-hour emergency services:

Out of Hours Social Work Services

Call: 01896 752111

Monday to Thursday 4.30pm-12midnight.
Friday 4pm-12midnight.
Weekends and public holidays 9am-12midnight.
Each night there is an emergency service from 12midnight-9am.

Listening services:

If you’re struggling and need to speak to someone quickly, you can call a helpline or listening service. They can support you by letting you talk about your feelings without judgement.
Here are some services that are here to listen:

Samaritans National Line (24/7): Call: 116 123 or email

Samaritans, provide confidential emotional support for people experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which could lead to suicide. Calls are free.

Saneline Phoneline (6pm to 11pm) : Call: 0300 304 7000

Breathing Space Helpline: Call: 0800 83 85 87 (Mon–Thurs: 6 pm – 2 am, Fri: 6 pm–Mon 6 am). Breathing Space is a free, confidential helpline for anyone experiencing low mood, anxiety or depression, or who is unusually worried and needs someone to talk to.
