What is Mental Health Recovery - (an online self-study course)

Course Duration: 1 session, approximately 1-1.5 hours

Course Description: This course offers the opportunity to reflect on key themes that support mental health recovery and how they apply in your life

Who is this Course for?: If you are currently experiencing poor mental health or wellbeing - or even just a sense that you’re not quite yourself – this course will help you explore what could make you feel better. It will introduce the CHIME principles of Connectedness, Hope and Optimism, Identity, Meaning and Empowerment, which research indicates are important themes in mental health recovery. This course will provide some time and space for you to reflect privately on your mental health, as you discover everyday things that might help. Sources of further information, should you wish to learn more, will also be provided.

Outcomes from the Course: By the end of the course we hope you will better understand what mental health recovery means to you and that it is possible, on your own terms.

Identifying and Managing Stress

Course Duration: 1 session, approximately 1-1.5 hours

Course Description: This course offers the opportunity to reflect on what stress is, how stress can affect us and the impact this can have, and some tips you can use if you are feeling stressed.

Who is this Course for?: If you are currently experiencing feelings of stress - or even just a sense that you’re not quite yourself – this course will help you explore how stress might be impacting on you and ways to you can begin to improve this.  This course will provide some time and space for you to reflect privately on your mental health, as you discover everyday things that might help.

Outcomes from the Course: By the end of the course we hope you will better understand what Stress is, how it affects you and some ways you might be able to manage this.

Recognising and Understanding Loss

Course Duration: 1 session, approximately 1-1.5 hours

Course Description: This course will explore the concept of loss and some ways in which we can recognise and understand this during the current pandemic.

Who is this Course for?: Many people have experienced significant life changes over the last 6 months as a result of the covid-19 pandemic. If this is you, this course will help explore how you might be experiencing loss as a result of these changes and how you can begin to understand this. 

Outcomes from the Course: By the end of the course we hope you will better understand what loss is, how you can recognise this and some ways you can begin to cope with losses.

Boundaries Keep Us Safe and Help Our Self-Esteem

Course Duration: 1 session, approximately 1-1.5 hours

Course Description: This course will explore the concept of personal boundaries, what they are and how they can help us to maintain good mental health and boost self-esteem.

Who is this Course for?: Do you sometimes find yourself finding it hard to say no? Do you ever feel that others don't respect your feelings and needs? If so, this course might be for you. During this short session we will explore the concept of personal boundaries and how we can communicate these with others in our lives. 

Outcomes from the Course: By the end of the course we hope you will better understand what your personal boundaries are, the importance of communicating these with others and the benefits maintaining our boundaries can have.

Natural Wellbeing

Course Duration: 1 session, approximately 45 minutes.

Course Description: This course will explore the ways in which nature can contribute to positive mental health and wellbeing. 

Who is this Course for?: If you have an interest in nature and want to know more about it, or perhaps you want to consider new ways to incorporate nature into your daily life then this session might be for you. 

Outcomes from the Course: By the end of this course, we hope you will have been inspired to consider new and simple ways that you can engage with nature both indoors and outdoors that can improve your mental health and wellbeing.

Apartments Blocks - Lara Armitage

Course Duration: 1 session, but how long you want to spend is up to you!

Course Description: This course will let you get the creative juices flowing. Inspired by the apartment blocks seen in Italy in March and April this course invites you to order a crafting pack and get creative. 

Who is this Course for?: If you like crafting, working with your hands and keeping busy this this might be for you. 

Outcomes from the Course: By the end of the course we hope you will have a creation which you are proud of.
