Creative Writing for Wellbeing - Level 2 (Online)

  • Zoom

  • Gilly Beckett, Jo Highet, Jacquie Lamont

  • 10.30am - 12.30pm

Creative Writing can be invigorating, solitary, exhilarating, soul searching, and much more.

‘Everyone has a book in them’ - true (or not) as this universal phrase may be - there is a world of difference between wanting to write, thinking about, or even planning to write. Sitting down, beginning at the beginning (and where exactly is that?) let alone devising the middle and where will it end?

This course may be of interest to you if you have a passion for writing, a desire to be creative or if you have attended our previous Creative Writing for Wellbeing Courses. For those creative writers who are looking for their next challenge, we ask you to keep an open mind and see where the course takes you.

This course presents prompts and exercises to reveal your skills and uncover or unleash your passion for writing. Prose and poetry are the two common forms talked about in this course. Prose contains sentences and paragraphs without metrical structure - poetry has lines and stanzas. However, by restructuring your writing you can create prose poetry. Perhaps you’re fascinated by paragraphs rather than verse?

This course will last for 4 sessions.  Starting on Thursday 4 February 2021, until Thursday 25 February 2021. Each session will last for two hours from 10.30am – 12.30pm with regular breaks.

It is facilitated by Gilly Beckett, Jo Highet and Jacquie Lamont.

It will be delivered online via Zoom.
